Michela Giovannini holds a degree in Political Science from the University of Padua and a PhD in Local Development and Global Dynamics from the University of Trento. At Euricse, she focuses on emerging cooperative models, the political role of cooperatives and the social economy, and the development of their ecosystems.<\/p>\n
Over the course of her research career, she has developed extensive international experience in the fields of social and solidarity economy, cooperatives, and community development, participating in national and European research projects focused on social and solidarity economy, sustainable food systems, and cooperative and social enterprise models. She was awarded a Marie Sk\u0142odowska-Curie Individual Fellowship at the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra.<\/p>\n
Her research interests primarily focus on social and solidarity economy, the role of cooperatives, and forms of democratic governance, with particular attention to the socio-economic initiatives of Indigenous communities, community development processes, and collective action dynamics in Europe and Latin America.
