Together with the EMES International Research Network, Euricse has recently won the call for tenders launched by the European Commission (Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion) for the \u201cUpdate of the mapping of social enterprises and their ecosystems in Europe\u201d.<\/p>\n

The objectives of the project are threefold.<\/p>\n

Firstly, it aims at updating the country reports on 21 EU countries that were published in 2014 as a result of the first mapping study<\/a> promoted by the European Commission. Seven country reports had been updated during the second phase of the mapping study<\/a>, carried out in 2016, which targeted seven EU countries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Secondly, the project aims at drafting baseline country fiches aimed at capturing key features as well as opportunities and barriers to the development of social enterprises in seven non-EU countries participating in the EU Programme for Employment and Social Innovation<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Thirdly, it has the objective of drafting a synthesis report of social enterprises and their eco-systems in Europe, taking into account the findings of all updated country reports and country fiches. The synthesis report will analyse the drivers, characteristics and potential impact of social enterprises in in Europe, their economic and societal relevance, as well as their ecosystems (e.g., legal environment, fiscal elements, presence and development of support measures, etc.) and the debate on their current development tendencies and constraints to start-up and scale.<\/p>\n

Both the update of the country reports and the draft of the synthesis report envisages the engagement of national stakeholders that will have the opportunity to contribute to the updating of the report. Moreover, a synthesis seminar will be organized to discuss the key findings of the synthesis report and collect insights and comments from EU-level stakeholders.<\/p>\n

The project kick-off meeting took place in Brussels on the 12th of October 2017<\/strong>. The expected duration of the project is two years, therefore it will be finalised in September 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
