{"id":381,"date":"2015-03-05T15:47:06","date_gmt":"2015-03-05T15:47:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/euricse.staging.hgblu.com\/projects\/limpresa-sociale-impatto-sociale-e-bisogni-finanziari-2\/"},"modified":"2018-02-13T09:16:35","modified_gmt":"2018-02-13T09:16:35","slug":"limpresa-sociale-impatto-sociale-e-bisogni-finanziari","status":"publish","type":"projects","link":"https:\/\/euricse.eu\/en\/projects\/limpresa-sociale-impatto-sociale-e-bisogni-finanziari\/","title":{"rendered":"Research in Social Enterprise, its social impact and its financial needs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong>Project status:<\/strong> concluded<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Description<\/h2>\n<p>In order to fully harness the contribution of social enterprises (SEs) to societal wellbeing, inclusion and smart economic growth, their rationale and roles need to be better understood and subsequently translated into effective policies that are able to exploit their competitive advantages vis-\u00e0-vis public and for-profit enterprises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The RiSE GRIT research project<\/strong> is built on the rich Italian experience and evolves in three different dimensions: a conceptual dimension, which focuses on approaching SEs as a \u201csystem\u201d integrated into a socioeconomic context; a horizontal, explicit focus on SEs\u2019 access to finance and social impact assessment as key areas for their support and further development; and a spatial\/geographical dimension that focuses on areas that, although in need, have not yet developed a sufficient number of initiatives (e.g., rural vs. urban settings and\/or Greece and other areas in crisis).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Becoming familiar with the main theoretical analyses aimed at explaining the economic rationale of SEs.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Investigating the financial and funding needs of SEs during their life-cycle development.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Focusing on the role of \u201creporting\u201d in measuring social impact: the challenges of providing a uniform methodological approach for all SEs and all spatial settings, and what are the necessary capacity-building policies that should be introduced in order to render the application of such a methodology successful;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Main results<\/h2>\n<p>To this direction, Yiorgos Alexopoulos participated in most major events on social enterprises organized in Italy and Greece (e.g. under the Greek and Italian Presidency of the EU Council, as well as by national associations and networks -e.g. IRIS Network).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Social finance<\/strong> as a concrete dimension of the project was studied theoretically and empirically by <strong>participating actively in relevant EU research networks and pilot projects<\/strong>, as well by the administration of a survey to investigate financial and funding needs of Greek social enterprises (demand side).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>European program:<\/strong> \u00a0Marie Sklodowska Curie Action &#8211; \u00a0Intra-European fellowships for Career Development &#8211; IEF<\/p>\n<p><strong>Project duration:<\/strong> \u00a0June 2014-June 2016<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coordinator:<\/strong> Euricse<\/p>\n<p><strong>Partners:<\/strong> Euricse, Yiorgos Alexopoulos, Research fellow, Agricultural University of Athens, Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Athens, Greece.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In order to fully harness the contribution of social enterprises (SEs) to societal wellbeing, inclusion and smart economic growth, their rationale and roles need to be better understood and subsequently translated into effective policies that are able to exploit their competitive advantages vis-\u00e0-vis public and for-profit enterprises.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":32,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"episode_type":"","audio_file":"","cover_image":"","cover_image_id":"","duration":"","filesize":"","date_recorded":"","explicit":"","block":"","itunes_episode_number":"","itunes_title":"","itunes_season_number":"","itunes_episode_type":"","filesize_raw":"","footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-381","projects","type-projects","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.1.1 -
