In Italy, workers at risk of unemployment have the opportunity to safeguard their jobs, the employment levels of the company in crisis and their respective production assets. In fact, such employees can restart and acquire the companies in crisis from which they came, transforming them into democratic and cooperative enterprises, and achieving excellent economic and financial results. These companies are called worker-recovered enterprises. This paper brings together the first results of research aimed at studying the start-up and enterprise processes of worker-recovered enterprises in Italy.
