In nearly four decades of study and research Carlo Borzaga has been concerned with understanding the role and characteristics of the vast set of actors ranging from voluntary organizations to social cooperation and beyond. He has followed their quantitative and institutional changes. However, many speeches, reports, and preparatory writings for publications have remained unpublished. Yet they offer insights useful in understanding these organizations, their characteristics and evolution. A selection of these writings is collected in this volume, edited by Gianfranco Marocchi.<\/p>\n
