The twin transition, digital and ecological, represents one of the main development directions outlined by the European political agenda. The aim is to increase the competitiveness of production systems through a better (and lower) use of natural resources (non-renewable) that contributes to reducing the environmental impact and the related effects on the global warming process. The change in production and consumption models could, however, trigger a series of social and cultural repercussions and, consequently, induce new situations\/conditions of poverty\/exclusion. For this reason, it is of primary importance to consider and reflect on the structure and ways of organization of production as they are potentially able of significantly influencing the innovative trajectories defined by the ongoing transformations (supported by the twin transition). In this regard, this contribution will deal with the role of the cooperative model and the risks associated with participation in the twin transition in terms of greater exclusivity and, therefore, with respect to a possible weakening of its nature, distinctiveness and sustainability.<\/p>\n
