Focus on Work Integration Social Enterpreises

24 March 2023

The new issue of the Italian online magazine ‘Impresa Sociale‘ is out, with a focus on the labour of Work integration social enterprises (WISEs).

There are several articles referring to the results of the B-WISE project, which I would like to mention here:

– The article by Giulia Galera and Giulia Tallarini (Euricse) “Work integration from an EU perspective” outlines and compares the different policy frameworks in European Countries designed to employ people with characteristics that lead to their exclusion from entering or remaining in the labour market. (article in Italian)

– Gianfranco Marocchi‘s article (Consorzio Nazionale Idee in Rete“Many of the things we used to believe about labour integration are false” proposes, in the first part, a classification of WISEs into three categories (productive, social, training) and then develops a reflection which, starting from evidence at European level, analyses the situation in Italy. (article in Italian)

– Next comes the results of a survey on WISEs and other social economy actors in Romania, in an article by Ancuta Vamesu (RISE Romania).; here too, policies are the focus of attention, even though they are still in an embryonic stage in Romania.  (article in Italian)

– Finally, there is a contribution by ENSIE (Patrizia Bussi and Pauline Bonino) that places EU action on WISEs in the context of policies for the social economy. (English)
