Thomas Pettinato

Experienced Researcher

Thomas Pettinato holds a PhD in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Milan-Bicocca, where he defended a dissertation entitled “Modern Slavery: a System of Exploitation. Study on Vulnerability Factors’ Dynamics.” His research interests include labour exploitation, the sociology of migration, and women’s empowerment in developing countries, with a mixed-methods approach.

Between 2024 and 2026, he worked as a researcher and community worker at CSV Milano, focusing on the analysis of the non-profit sector and active citizenship through participatory research methods. He has been involved in projects on community welfare and shared governance.

He is an independent researcher in the field of Diversity and Inclusion. At EURICSE, he is engaged in impact assessment and evaluative research.
