The Role of Social and Solidarity Economy in employment generation
A panel by Euricse and ILO for the 3rd World Forum of Local Economic Development
Euricse will participate in the 3rd World Forum of Local Economic Development (Turin, 13-16 October 2015) organizing together with the ILO the panel The role of social and solidarity economy in employment generation. Social and solidarity economy (SSE) is one of the main “engines” of local development, although its role is not always adequately recognized in policies and governance structures. The aim of the panel is to analyze the local impact of the organizations of social and solidarity economy from a relevant point of view: the creation of jobs, especially for people and social groups who are, for different reasons, excluded from the traditional labour market.
Sandra Yu (Local strategies for Decent Work, ILO) will be moderating the session. The participants include: Carlo Borzaga (Euricse), Jean Evariste Ngouas (UNDP ART GOLD Programme, Gabon), Luca Jahier (EESC), Ben Quiñones (the Economic Council, Philippines), José Luis Sanchez Garcia Txelísan (European Network of Solidarity Economy), Maria Victoria Marzi (National University of Rosario, Argentina) Om Chhrovanchanny (National League of Councils, Cambogia), Alessandro Valera (Ashoka, Italia) and Fernando Baptista (ILO).
