1 September 2023

Euricse, in partnership with CIRIEC and Spatial Foresight, is carrying out the Study “Improving the socio-economic knowledge of the Proximity and Social Economy ecosystem – Lot 1: Benchmarking the socio-economic performance of the EU Social Economy” on behalf of the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA).
The study aims at analysing the recent evolution of the Social Economy and having an overall picture of the weight and role of social economy entities in the European Union thanks to reliable, accurate, and relevant data and by using a common methodology in all 27 European Member States. Moreover, it will shed light on several crucial aspects, such as the reaction of the Social Economy to the COVID-19 pandemic and the social economy’s contribution to other industrial ecosystems.
The study will provide high quality and pertinent quantitative and qualitative data, which will contribute to the European and national policy-making process in the field of Social Economy and will support the promotion of an evidence-based policy on the Social Economy as a field of action in the context of the European industrial strategy.
