Cooperative Perspectives: International Insights and Local Lessons
On the 18th of November, Trento hosted the international conference “Cooperative Perspectives: International Insights and Local Lessons“, which brought together cooperative leaders, policymakers and experts from around the world to discuss policies aimed at strengthening the role of cooperatives in addressing current and future challenges. Organised by the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities, the Trento Local Development Centre and the Trentino Federation of Cooperatives, with the support of Skopìa Anticipation Services, EURICSE and the University of Trento, the event was part of the celebrations for the 130th anniversary of the Trentino Federation of Cooperation. It provided an open forum to reflect on the future of the cooperative movement. EURICSE President Paola Iamiceli opened the conference together with the other partners, while Secretary General Gianluca Salvatori participated in a roundtable on future scenarios. At the end of the day, Director Riccardo Bodini presented the main insights that emerged. The conference also highlighted the study “Cooperative perspectives: preparing for future challenges”, developed with the contribution of EURICSE and other partners. The research emphasises the strong link between cooperative heritage and future strategic directions and is based on a broad participatory process involving over 300 cooperative members through foresight exercises, local workshops and international comparisons.
