EURICSE at the Trento Economics Festival

At the Trento Festival of Economics, social economy was once again discussed, but with a clear shift in perspective: not as a “peripheral” sector, but as a core and structural part of the market. The numbers help illustrate its scale. Gianluca Salvatori, Secretary General of EURICSE, opened the discussion by citing data from EURICSE’s research: 4.3 million organizations in the European Union, €912 billion in turnover (across 19 out of 27 countries), 6% of GDP, and 6.3% of employment. In Italy alone, there are 400,000 entities generating over €70 billion, a figure comparable to the fashion industry.
