European Commission launches the EU Proximity and Social Economy Platform
The objective of the EU Proximity and Social Economy Platform is to create an integrated support mechanism that facilitates collaboration, knowledge sharing, and capacity building among stakeholders in the proximity and social economy ecosystem, in line with the goals of the Transition Pathway. The Platform is part of the European Commission’s broader initiative to drive the transformation towards a more sustainable, digital, resilient, and globally competitive economy.
On 6th February 2025, from 14.00 to 16.30 CET, the European Commission will organise an official launch event. Registrations are open to organisations and individuals working to strengthen local economies, advance social innovation, and keep goods, services, and solutions close to home.
Register for the event to participate online.
The speakers will introduce the platform’s features, including how to share pledges and discover opportunities for their work. It will also showcase the progress made on the Transition Pathway for the sector. The ‘Voices of the Ecosystem’ session will present perspectives from influential community members, reflecting the diversity of the proximity and social economy actors. The Ambassador programme for the EU Proximity and Social Economy platform will be introduced to recognise the leaders already championing the ecosystem.
