International Symposium on Cooperatives and International Law
On the 24th of October the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) organised the International Symposium on Cooperatives and International Law at the Peace Palace in The Hague, home of the International Court of Justice, on the occasion of the International Year of Cooperatives. The event explored the relationship between cooperatives, international law, and sustainable development, highlighting the cooperative model’s growing importance in addressing global challenges. Paola Iamiceli, President of EURICSE, contributed as invited speaker to the panel on “Cooperative Education and Training”, stressing the need to embed cooperative identity within education systems and public policies.
She called for stronger collaboration between cooperatives, universities, and institutions to overcome fragmentation. In her remarks, Paola Iamiceli also presented the ICBEC network, a global consortium of 24 institutions, with EURICSE serving as both member and Secretariat, as a model of international cooperation in cooperative business and management education.
