Master GIS: shared governance and a focus on food surpluses

30 June 2026

On the 19th and 20th of June, the Master’s Degree in Management of Social Enterprises (Master GIS) organised by EURICSE and the University of Trento featured two days of in-person training in Trento. These sessions focused on the topic of shared governance and explored the tools and skills required to work in collaborative contexts.
On Friday evening, as part of the FuoriGIS events, the course participants took part in a round-table discussion on the topic of food surpluses. Drawing on his book ‘Nostra Eccedenza’, the author Raffaele Avagliano engaged in a discussion with Francesca Forno, director of the Master’s programme and professor at the University of Trento; Giorgio Casagranda, president of Trentino Solidale; and Andreas Fernandez, councillor for ecological transition at Trento City Council.
The Master now breaks for the summer, giving students the opportunity to choose their internship placements and develop their project work.
