Eddi Fontanari

Senior Researcher

Eddi Fontanari holds a degree in Economic Decisions, Enterprise and Social Responsibility from the University of Trento and a PhD in Production and Development Economics from the University of Insubria. In his theses, he investigated the relevance and economic behavior of cooperatives in the Trentino region of Italy as well as in the country as a whole.

In 2009 he received the certificate of “Master Cooperator” from the Trentino Federation of Cooperatives.

From March to August 2015, he was a visiting scholar in the United States at the University of Missouri to explore issues related to the modern agricultural cooperative from a comparative perspective.

He has collaborated with Euricse since its inception and joined the staff in 2015. Currently in the role of Senior Researcher, his research interests are in the study of the impact and economic performance of cooperatives.

In recent years, he has developed a new understanding of the modern agricultural cooperative in managing the innovation process. In addition, he has been involved in research reports on cooperation and the Italian social economy. In the past, he has also collaborated with the University of Trento.
