The Research Report on Cooperatives in Trentino region, produced by EURICSE as part of the program agreement with the Autonomous Province of Trento, is a fundamental tool for analysis and reflection to understand the evolution and prospects of the Trentino cooperative movement.

This new edition, through an integrated approach that combines balance sheet data with a sample survey, offers an updated and in-depth reading of the cooperative sector, highlighting its economic-financial and employment dynamics. The analysis focuses on the five main cooperative sectors in the province: production and labor, agriculture, social sector, consumption and credit.

In the second part, the report focuses on two topical strategic issues: intergenerationality and environmental sustainability. In particular, it analyzes the ability of cooperatives to renew their social base by actively involving new generations, and to address the challenges posed by climate change and environmental degradation by integrating sustainability into their organizational and production models.

The central objective of the report is therefore to assess the ability of cooperatives in Trentino to adapt and innovate in a changing context. Generational change, active participation of young people, economic and environmental sustainability are key elements to ensure the resilience and viability of the cooperative model in the long run. Through this analysis, the report aims to offer concrete food for thought and proposals to strengthen the resilience and competitiveness of the Trentino cooperative system, keeping its territorial roots and founding values of mutuality, solidarity and participation firmly in place.
