The article aims to explore some specific aspects of governance in worker cooperatives, with particular reference to the participation of the worker member in the management of the enterprise. To this end, the different systems of administration and control of a cooperative will be evaluated in light of the need to make member participation effective. Among other things, the analysis will take into account the distinction between larger and smaller cooperatives, both from the point of view of possible governance models, and the alternative between direct and indirect democracy, and from a de iure condendo perspective.
