WISEs in Europe and Serbia: innovative pathways and policies
25 May 2026
The report “Catalysts for inclusive transition: WISEs trajectories, innovative pathways and policies in Europe & Serbia”, produced as part of the Horizon WISESHIFT project, has been published. The document offers a comparative analysis of Work Integration Social Enterprises (WISEs) in Europe and Serbia, with a focus on the eight countries represented in the consortium: Belgium, Croatia, France, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, the Netherlands and Serbia. Based on national and European studies conducted over the past few decades and supplemented by contributions from the WISESHIFT partners, the report examines models, legal frameworks, development trajectories and emerging trends of WISEs in Europe and Serbia, highlighting their contribution to the labour market and social inclusion of disadvantaged workers. Based on the report’s findings – produced with contributions from EURICSE’s Giulia Galera, Giulia Tallarini, Chiara Carini, Caterina Ottobrini and Gianfranco Marocchi – the first policy brief, “Unlocking the transformative potential of WISEs in Europe”, has also been published, translating the research findings into useful recommendations for public policy.
