Seminars on collective action and sustainability in cooperatives

29 May 2026

Euricse is launching a new series of seminars dedicated to analyzing contemporary transformations in the social economy, cooperative practices, and emerging forms of collective action. The meetings are part of the Institute’s broader commitment to fostering dialogue between academic research, cooperative experiences, and public policies, with a particular focus on socio-economic innovation processes and sustainability.

The first session will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, with the seminar The Matter that Matters: socio-material practices and the scaling of change, led by Francesca Forno (University of Trento). The event will explore transformations in contemporary collective action in light of so-called neo-materialist movement organizations, focusing on the role of everyday practices, cooperation, and scaling processes in social change pathways. The seminar will be held at EURICSE (4th floor) and will also be available online via Zoom.

The event will offer a comparative analysis of sustainability reporting practices in Italian and Spanish worker cooperatives, focusing on the cases of Legacoop and the Mondragon Corporation. The discussion will examine the role of institutional contexts, governance structures, and cooperative traditions in shaping these practices. The seminar will be held in the EURICSE meeting room (4th floor) and will also be accessible online.
