Statistics on the Social Economy in the European Member States

1 November 2023

On October 10th and 11th, a workshop was held on Social Economy statistics in the 27 European Member States. This event was part of the project “Benchmarking the socio-economic performance of the EU Social Economy,” led by Euricse in collaboration with CIRIEC International and Spatial Foresight, commissioned by the European Council Executive Agency for Innovation and SMEs (EISMEA).
The workshop began with welcoming remarks from Patrick Klein representing the European Commission (DG GROW), followed by a presentation from Euricses’ senior researcher Chiara Carini on the state of Social Economy statistics in European member States. About 30 researchers and experts from various organizations attended, allowing for an exchange of insights on available data and methodologies for data collection. This event contributes to the project’s goal of mapping and analyzing information on the recent developments in the Social Economy in Europe. The next workshop, scheduled for November 8th, will address challenges and solutions in producing statistics.
