Luca Fazzi graduated in Sociology from the University of Trento, where he afterwards obtained his PhD in Sociology and Social Research in 1995. He specialized in Political Sociology at the University of Regensburg (Germany) and in Ethnology at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). He currently works as an Adjunct Professor at the faculty of Sociology of the University of Trento.
His research activities are focused on the analysis and the interpretation of the evolution of nonprofit organizations, the reform of social services (with a focus on managerialism), the structure and dynamics of social policies (both at the national and the international level) and on the study of participatory policies and of active citizenry.
From 2002 to 2006 he coordinated the Master in “Management of nonprofit organizations and social cooperatives”, created by the University of Trento in collaboration with the Institute for the Study of Nonprofit Enterprises (ISSAN). Since 2007 he is vice director of the master in management of Social Enterprises.
