Silvia is senior lecturer at the Department of Public Leadership and Social Enterprise of the Open University (UK). She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences from the University of Bologna and she has a Master and a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham (UK). She has carried out her academic activity at the University of Birmingham, the Stirling Univeristiy (Scotland), as well as at the University of Ferrara and Trento in Italy. She has conducted research activities for Antares (Univeristy of Bologna- Forlì) and for the General Direction of Commerce for the Emilia-Romagna Region. Her studies on innovative analysis models for enterprises’ network and for local development have been published on many international scientific journals. She focuses her research on the advantages deriving from development models based on participation and creativity, social capital, social enterprise and cooperatives.
