WP 37 | 12 Cooperation in times of crisis

In recent decades our societies have been guided by the belief that only the large capital enterprise deserved consideration, and traditional (for-profit) enterprise has emerged as the dominant business model in the global economic paradigm. From this approach, other forms of enterprise, including cooperative enterprise, have been confined to playing an entirely marginal role that is destined to disappear. Reality today, on the contrary, is showing that pluralism of forms of enterprise is the way forward in addressing the deep crisis in the global economy, and cooperatives are a fundamental part of this pluralism.
