The report on Trentino cooperation was created with the intention of providing analyses that are supportive, first and foremost, of the cooperative movement – for its own strengthening, but also to address critical issues and elements of weakness – but that also encourage discussion – among public decision-makers, social entrepreneurs and, more generally, social forces – on the role and contribution of cooperatives to the provincial economy, also in order to contribute to the formulation of public policy initiatives and decisions.

The report-which is divided into two parts-measures the spread and relevance of cooperatives active in the province of Trento and explores the recent evolution and possible lines of development of the main cooperative sectors. In detail, in the first part of the report, the economic-financial performance and employment levels of cooperatives as of 2017, the last year for which a sufficiently complete database is available, are analyzed, comparing the results obtained with those of other Trentino companies. The second part, on the other hand, presents five insights into as many sectors of Trentino cooperation: production and labor, agricultural, social, consumption and credit.
